Hola. Me llamo Julia!
There is arguably nothing I am more passionate about than how much it has meant to me to have learned the Spanish language. The doors that it has opened for me in my short life are inestimable; how could I even attempt to quantify the precious human connections I've made, and the copious amount of love and joy these connections have brought to my life thus far? It would seriously be impossible!

A blurb from Dead Poet's Society I always quote puts things into perspective perfectly.

"The human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love- these are what we stay alive for."

For, I have studied biology, chemistry, physics- all noble pursuits, all challenging and significant and important subject areas that have fueled my mind with the knowledge and skills I would need to be a doctor, or engineer, or chemist. And I am proud to have successfully studied these subjects in higher ed institutions. But does mitosis get me out of bed in the morning? Does comprehending and applying Einstein's Theory of Relativity bring me immense joy? Do chemical reactions cover me in goosebumps and remind me I am alive? ............ Probably not.

Language is art, language is poetry, language is romance, it is love! Learning and mastering a new language like Spanish is all of these things and more. Skyping and chatting in Spanish with the friends- family- I have made abroad, does get me out of bed, and does remind me I am alive, as does taking in new cultures, art, history, etc.

You may open your mind to whatever information you choose- science, math, etc- but to learn Spanish, you must open your heart and soul, and I surely hope that you do. :) <3

All my love!
